The Child Abuse Prevention Council (CAPC) is a dedicated community-driven council focused on preventing and addressing child abuse and neglect in El Dorado County. Comprising of 15 community members appointed by the Board of Supervisors, CAPC operates as an independent entity through a partnership between the El Dorado County Department of Human Services and the El Dorado County Office of Education.

- Serving as the Children’s Trust Fund Commission to oversee and allocate resources that support child abuse prevention.
- Providing a collaborative forum for interagency communication and coordination to strengthen local efforts.
- Facilitating training and education for professionals to enhance skills in detecting and addressing child abuse and neglect.
- Advocating for improved services to support families and victims of abuse.
- Raising public awareness about the prevention of child abuse and the available resources for intervention and support.
Together, we strive to ensure every child in El Dorado County grows up in a safe and nurturing environment.
