The mission of the El Dorado County Child Abuse Prevention Council is to increase awareness and respect for the rights of children to be free of abuse and neglect.
The Child Abuse Prevention Council’s primary purpose is to coordinate the community’s efforts to prevent child abuse and neglect. The Board of Supervisors appoints its fifteen members. The council acts as an independent entity and is coordinated through a contract between the El Dorado County Department of Health and Human Services and the El Dorado County Office of Education. The Child Abuse Prevention Council serves as the county’s Children’s Trust Fund Commission and is the collaborative partner in the Community Hub project.
